Our Committee
The IWA YWP UK committee consists of a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Sponsor Coordinator, Marketing Manager and an IWA YWP UK Conference Chair. These positions are held by IWA members who are based in the UK for the majority of the year. There is also a sub committee of volunteers who organise the annual IWA YWP UK Conference. These volunteers are based in the UK for the majority of the year but are not required to be IWA members.

The IWA UK YWP has a close working relationship with:
- IWA Secretariat (“IWA Head Office”) - The formal point of contact from the IWA Secretariat is the Membership Engagement Senior Officer. The IWA Secretariat contact the IWA YWP UK about required strategy documents (such as TOR refresh), other global opportunities and can help with any IWA advice. While the IWA Secretariat are based in London, they manage the relationship with all Chapters globally and are not a part of the IWA UK Chapter. They are full time members of IWA staff i.e. are not volunteers.
- IWA UK Chapter - A Steering Committee similar to the IWA YWP Steering Committee but being a YWP is not necessary. They have the interests of all IWA UK members in mind. The IWA YWP UK Chair will attend their virtual monthly steering meetings to provide an update on IWA YWP UK. The IWA UK Chapter have strong relationships with organisations across the UK, often on a senior leadership basis. The IWA YWP UK might find it helpful to contact this group to find potential contacts, for example for sponsorship or “Meet the Leaders”.
- IWA YWP Steering Committee - A group of elected YWP who represent the IWA YWP community globally, including the IWA YWP Chapters. They host virtual Global Coordination Calls twice yearly (in English) for all of the IWA YWP Chairs globally to discuss their Chapter.
- Institute of Water (IWater) - IWater is the National Governing Member of IWA in the UK. The IWA Committee is a committee within IWater and the IWA UK Chapter Chair sits on the IWater Board. Much of the IWA infrastructure is managed by IWater e.g. events are advertised and hosted by IWater, finances are administered by IWater etc. This relationship is specific to the UK Chapter and this is not a global partnership with other Chapters.
- IWater Young Professional Network (YPN) - A similar volunteer group to the IWA UK YWP but instead of different Chapters varying by country (e.g. IWA UK YWP, IWA Canada YWP), they vary regionally within the UK (e.g. IWater YPN Eastern Area, IWater YPN Scottish Area). The IWA YWP UK Chair will attend National IWater YPN virtual monthly meetings to provide an update on IWA YWP UK. They have the interests of the IWater YPN members in mind.
